YESTERDAY...

WAS NICE!

I was so glad to take a half day!

I got to spend a little bit of time with Ty Michael and Coy! I took them to ride with Papaw Dave in the combine. I think they loved it! **side note: Aunt Jessie fail moment... didn't take a paci or bottle for Coy and after 1/2 hour... he wanted something... and of course we were at the other end of the field.** We survived and Ty is an awesome big brother... helping me keep Coy's attention on other things!

Ignore my appearance!

I loved riding with the hubby... finally spending some time together. I love all he does for our family!

I just thought this was a cool picture... standing with dad replacing triangle "things."

so thankfully... for where I come from!

IT'S BEEN 9 DAYS...

since I last blogged and I told myself I would not get behind. So... here is just a little update:

Fall has been extremely busy for us!

I love the fall... minus knowing that winter is right around the corner. My days off have been anything but boring. I've been taking pictures like crazy... and I enjoy that so much! I honestly try not to schedule shoots when the kids are home, but sometimes it just doesn't work out and they have to go. They have been a big help getting everyone's attention {kids}! I also try to go to parks with playgrounds where they can have some fun! With it getting dark... earlier... It's super hard for me to do shoots after work! Luckily... I have a [pretty] flexible schedule and am able to leave early or make up my time elsewhere.

I am also a proud farmer's daughter... who not only "lost" her husband to the fire dept. but also to the fields. Don't get me wrong... I love that he is able to help my dad and Cody on his days off... BUT I miss him! I love that my dad compliments him {to me} about what a big help he is and how much he is learning. With everything in my life... I have not been able to help this year... and I hate that! I have been able to get them lunches on a few days.

Today... I took a half day! Woo Hoo for Indian Summer: warm temps and beautiful colors! I planned on spending the entire afternoon in the field... with 3 of my favorite guys! I planned on riding in the tractor with my hubby for hours just to catch up on life. I got a phone call last minute... asking for a photo shoot... so I said "absolutely!" Perfect for this family... that I just happened to take a half day. I also started adding other stuff to my "to do" list today... THEN... scratched it all off... minus the shoot!

Life is so extremely busy that I have to make spending time with my HUBBY a priority. We get so busy... with little things that can wait... that I sometimes forget what matters most:
FAMILY FIRST!

So... if my eye brows don't get waxed, my oil doesn't get changed, the laundry doesn't get put away, and the Edge doesn't get vacuumed... I'm okay with that! Today... I'm going to be a Farmer's Daughter and Firefighter's Wife! AND... I'm going to enjoy every second of it... without guilt!

HAPPY SATURDAY! ENJOY THE BEAUTIFUL WEATHER!

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY...

IS NOT GOING TO BE WORDLESS!

 These pictures were taken almost
{exactly} one year ago!
I can actually tell you they were taken on October 30, 2013...

Why do I know that...

Because my girl ended up in the hospital on Halloween.
Yes, it's almost been one year since we started our 11 day journey at Riley North.
I remember looking at these pictures and thinking about how frail [pale] my baby girl was.
There was nothing but skin on her bones...

Here is my prayer:

Pray for her health.
Pray for her strength.
Pray for knowledge.
Pray for love.
Pray for hope.
Pray for answers.

The past few days Haley has been complaining of belly aches again... and hers never seem to just end up as stomach aches. I'm nervous for her appt. on the 31st! We NEVER got answers from when she was in the hospital... or at any appt. after that. She even asked when her next blood draw was... :(
I can't forget to show Drew from one year ago! Man... he has grown up {a lot}!

CHURCH...

has always been an important part of my life.

I remember Grandma Musselman picking me up on Sunday mornings to go to Clarksville Christian. She would pack a little baggie of snacks and crayons for me. I don't ever remember my siblings going with me for some reason... and that's alright.

I remember a youth pastor while I was in high school that brought a huge group of us together. We all had a blast! In college, I found a church in Oklahoma that I loved!

When I moved home and had kids, the 3 of us tried many churches... and none of them were the one.

I'm still not sure this is THE ONE... but what I can tell you is that I am so happy I married a man that loves Jesus Christ and accepted him as his Lord and Savior.

I truly believe that going to church as a family is our foundation!

Now... that being said... everyone knows our schedules are ridiculous and we don't get too many days as a WHOLE family... but if we just remember our foundation is firm... nothing can break us!

This morning as I'm sitting at work... Tom just getting off shift... and the kids at their dads...
I'm missing our Sunday mornings!

CHRISTMAS...

is in about 10 weeks...

1. Its not even Halloween yet!
(can't wait to blog about the kids costumes! Say a little prayer that Haley's turns out as cute as she wants and I hope!)

2. Where did 2014 go?

I can't believe I'm going to blog about Christmas in October!

Doesn't everyone wish?!?!?!
I have to budget money... so I have to start early...
and I'm having a blast!

I can't believe I already have people done...

including Ty Michael (December) and Coy's (November) birthday presents!!

I'm having a hard time with my kids though! I'm not into electronics like other people are...

They got iPod Touches... but child 2 lost his!
They got Kindle Fires... and play on them!
I'm not buying child 1 a phone yet... ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
I don't even have an iPad... and don't want one!
Do they need TVs in their rooms... up for debate!

More Legos... More American Girl Doll stuff...

They both could use clothes and shoes, but that's not fun!
I did find a couple of neat things for Drew... but gave those ideas to the family!

Santa {aka... my Momma} always put the COOLEST stuff in our stockings... and still does!! Why can't I think of super fun stuff! I feel like it is always the same...

I know presents are the [REASON FOR THE SEASON] and I fully plan on blogging about that... around Christmas... not Halloween!

family*

2009 // 2014
This morning I was going through old pictures, and found this one of my daughter, and her cousin Haley from 2009! I had been dating my now husband for 6 months when it was taken. It didn't take long for these two girls to hit it off, and become best friends! Fast forward to now, and it is so neat to see their bond that has grown through the years! It has been so much fun watching the two of them grow up together, and stay close! They are so lucky to have each other, and I pray that through the years they turn to each other in times of celebration, and in times of sorrow. I hope they cherish the memories they have made and will make, and most of all I hope they never stop laughing!

Seeing the pictures of these two, and seeing the relationship that quickly formed reminds me how blessed we were when God brought Cody into our lives. He didn't just choose the perfect man for me and my daughter, he chose the perfect family*}

Heidi and Kenz- you fit perfectly into our family and we are blessed that God put Cody & you together! It's hard to remember life without you both! We love you!!

FALL FUN...

at Stoney Creek Pumpkin Patch!

The kids are on fall break for 2 weeks and we needed some pumpkins!
I had never been to Stoney Creek either... and I won't ever go back on a week day! All the super fun stuff was closed and its only open on the weekend!

Anyway... we did have a blast and the weather was perfect!

Drew, Ty Michael, Haley, & Coy
2014
I talked my sister into taking a 1/2 day from work so that we could enjoy a gorgeous day together with the kiddos. (I tried to talk my sis in law into letting Kenz skip school, too)

I love them!!

We also stopped and got some mums. Each of us picked out our favorite color then headed home to plant them. We got our scarecrows up and Haley painted one of her pumpkins.

I also had a few other fall decorations in a Rubbermaid...
When I opened the lid... mold was everywhere... YUCK! I dumped the whole box... boo!!

FARMING...

is a way of life!

It is our life!

These are 3 very important men in my life!

I am with dad in the combine...
My hubby is running the grain buggy...
My little brother is bush hogging in between dumping the semis.

What a gorgeous evening & I got to spend it with them after I got off work.
I love the conversations I have with my dad.

*I showed dad this pictures and he said, "why is my head bent?"*
I had to laugh and explained the "set-up" of a panoramic picture!

*I miss my kids terribly and can't wait to see them tonight!*

*I also didn't make it to check on my sis-in-law like I told her... but I did call!*
Please say a little prayer for her today as she got to the orthopedic Dr.!

Crossed...

one thing off my BUCKET LIST!!

I love watching the Today Show and have always wanted to be in the audience while its on. So... I convince the Wainscott's and Everitt's to take the 5:40 am train into the city, so we could attend!

AND WE GOT ON TV!! Matt Lauer actually waved to me too... Eye contact and all!!

Tom was pretty stoked that Dillon looked right at him and he got a great picture!

and the guys said they didn't want to be on TV... hahaha!!

Fire Departments...

are amazing to see in NY and NJ.
The brotherhood and pride that they take in their stations and equipment is something to see and be a part of... nothing compares.

While in the city, we always try to visit a few fire stations to collects shirts and patches... and to introduce ourselves. I'm missing a pictures from the Ghost Buster house (Hook n Ladder 8)... Not sure where it went!

These guys were super nice to talk to!

Ok... 10 House! It was the station closet to the twin towers and first responding! NO ONE gets in 10 house, because they are always getting bombarded with folks! Well... this girl... got our group in.

Missy, Brittany, and I before
Newton Fire is always a host to a big party and we have a blast! They also always initiate probie members to fire departments. It is a tradition!

Getting ready to get soaked

Freezing cold Champange
Tom had to get soaked again too even though he'd completed with Lapel because he's now a probie at Carmel! hahaha...
After...

This group had a blast! Great friends...

Sussex County, NJ hosted this years Inspection Day Parade. It was miles of nothing but fire trucks and equipment. The detail while cleaning... wow! Granted it rained all morning, but still... by the start time... it was gorgeous!
Missing Trucker and Julie!

A SHORT TRIP...

to New Jersey and New York City!
With Firefighters from around the state... we had a BLAST!
The bus ride to Pub 199 (amazing lobster, clams, and crab legs) and Mt. Arlington, NJ is always an experience in itself. Lots of fun! 11 people from Lapel Stony Creek went this year!!

Tom and I on our way...

Stacy, Julie, and I taking a selfie with the 2014 New Years Ball!
Dang lighting... you can't see it, but we are in Time Square.

On the Subway!

Nathan, Trucker, Me, Tom

There is nothing that can describe the feeling you get when visiting Ground Zero. Two years ago we were there and this year was just as amazing. The 9/11 Museum is now open and something that everyone must visit one day.

This is a piece of metal that is painted with the number of lives lost. Unbelievable just to see all the objects saved from that day. The pictures you see... The voices you hear...
